Assistive Listening Device (ALD) Distribution

Through the generosity of phone service customers, monies are generated and channeled through the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf to provide Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) to persons deaf and hard of hearing. The Deaf Action Center is a satellite office for the distribution of assistive listening equipment such as telecommunication devices for the Deaf, portable telecommunication devices for the deaf, two-way pagers, voice carry-over telephones, pocket voice carry-over systems, amplification devices, and visual alert systems for the doorbell, telephone, and clock alarms. Many of these devices are available to qualifying persons i.e., those possessing an audiogram indicating substantial hearing deficit.
