Description: I’ve been called to a courtroom but have no or little training. What is the appropriate etiquette in the courtroom? Scenarios that present legal vocabulary will be discussed as well as the process of Voir Dire. Legal vocabulary will be examined and options discussed and presented in small groups with hands on activities. Power balance/imbalance will be discussed. We will have dictionaries and discussions. Medical Interpreting: Procedures with Classifiers

Description: This workshop will allow interpreters and those exploring to work in the medical field interpreting. Discussion, activities and group work will provide opportunities for discussion of classifier options as well as the ability to try on these skills. Opportunities to explore and expand classifiers and there use in the frozen text of medical forms, medical histories, and common procedures will be provided. Resources well be explored.
